Butler County Trade Center tax incentive deal
G&W Products, a metal fabricator making Humvee and HIMARS parts, is adding 17,000 square feet at its Seward Road plant with a 5-year, 70% property tax abatement. The company keeps 194 jobs and adds at least 10 more, while compensating the school district during the abatement.
Twin Lakes HOA maintenance funding request
A resident asked council to help fund repairs at the 50-year-old, 128-unit Twin Lakes community, warning that deferred maintenance could hurt property values there and in the adjacent new development. Council took her letter under review but made no promises, noting HOA funding limits.
Commercial Revitalization Grant Program
A proposed $250,000 grant to the Fairfield Community Foundation would help business owners pay for exterior upgrades — second reading pending.
Whispering Hill villa development
A $1.2 million forgivable loan is proposed to help Mitchell Development build 68 paired villa homes on a challenging hillside site on South Gilmore Road. The ordinance got its second reading; a resident asked council to apply similar resources to the Pleasant and John Gray development.
